The NRHS Library/Media Center is a member library of the Commonwealth eBook Collections. Students who are interested in having electronic access to materials that support academic research and personal information needs can sign up for accounts with EBL, Biblioboard, and Axis 360. These collections also provide users with access to best-selling fiction and non-fiction titles. Speak to Mrs. Brown in the Media Center to get directions on setting up accounts for the following:
Lending Model: Short Term Loan (STL) Titles are always available to users.
Checkout Process:
1. Search or browse for titles in EBL.
2. View content immediately from within the Web browser
3. Continue reading within the browser or download to read using Adobe Digital Editions on a desktop/laptop or the BlueFire reader on a mobile device.
There are currently over 3000 Computer Science/IT titles available in the collection. Most titles were published within the last 3 years.

Lending Model: Unlimited simultaneous use
Checkout Process: Essentially, there is no real checkout process. The items are always available. Simple use your web browser or the mobile app on tablet devices to read items in the collection. Login is only required for personalized features such as bookmarks, synchronized reading across devices, etc. (Login is also required to view resources out of state.)
You will find some of the “Dummies” books in this collection.

1. Use the Axis 360 magic wall to find an eBook.
2. Mouse over the title.
3. Select a format.
4. Click checkout.

Resources available through Boston Public Library include access to Hoopla Digital, Lynda.com, Gale online courses, and Credo Reference.
Hoopla is a free streaming media app that gives users the ability to borrow music, videos, and audio-books for free (with a free Boston Public Library eCard and a free Hoopla account). The nice thing is that you can access all of the content on a desktop computer or laptop without having to download anything. You don't necessarily need to have a mobile device to be able to borrow titles.
Here are the steps:
a. Sign up for a free Boston Public Library eCard
b. Sign up for an account on Hoopla (Select Boston Public Library as your library)
c. Find Audiobooks, Movies, and Music to borrow from Hoopla (You can borrow up to 10 titles/month in any combination)
*note that data charges may apply if you do not have an unlimited data plan and are not streaming content using a Wi-Fi network. (You can download audiobooks to your mobile device to avoid using data if you are not connected to wifi and want to listen to an audiobook or read an eBook when you aren't connected to wifi)
